What is CALL?

 
 

I have learned what CALL is and it means Computer Assisted Language Learning .It is a new technique to learn a new language. it helps student and teachers as will. It makes education more interesting. This tool has unlimited information and place.Then we learn the roles in CALL for students and teachers. Student's role is to focus in the lectures, be on time, cooperate with other students, follow teacher's instructions, practice what we learn and during the lecture we can ask the teacher and discuss everything. On the other hand , the teacher's role is cooperate with the students and be on time. After that we learn how CALL helps us on speaking, reading, listening and writing. It is helpful in listening and reading such as, we can listen to many things to develop our listening skills and we can read novels on the computer.



The advantages and disadvantages of CALL

We learned today about the advantages and disadvantages of CALL. First, the advantages of CALL are motivation. The students can be creative. Furthermore, it makes the students think critically . It makes students improve their language by reading, writing, listening and speaking to the native speakers. Second, the disadvantages of CALL . It is the financial cost. Moreover, it requires qualified teachers in technology. the last disadvantage in CALL is the scarcity of websites.


Self Learning

I know self learning is a good way to learn because it makes us depend in ourselves and it improves our skills. However, today we learn what self learning means and what the importance of self learning is. I think the most important thing is making us responsible. It is a helpful method to learn for me because I have the freedom to choose and easy access.

Language Learning Websites (topic 11)

Memrise website is a website to learn and teach words in any language. It is an interesting website because you are learning by some games. It is easy to use . You should sign up then you will have levels after that you choose your level and play. Moreover, you can find members and follow them. It is helpful and interesting website.


Evaluation two websites

There are two websites that I think they are helpful to learn English language . The first website is manythings.org. This website as I said to learn English language . It includes vocabulary, reading, grammar, listening and speaking and others. I think it is helpful because you can practice English language by some games. Moreover, you can find many information in many aspects . Therefore, it can help me in my study. On the other hand, the second website includes exercises to correct your pronunciation. It is useful because you can find many words that is similar to each other and the audios will distinguish the difference between the words. Moreover, the website bring common spilling related to the word. Furthermore, you can practice by listening to some words and define the different word and by choosing the sound of the letter. I found these websites are useful in English language and very interesting. 

 

Language Learning Websites (topic 13,14 and 15)

Speaking one of the most difficult skills for me .Therefore, to practice speaking you should talk and listen. I found a website that can help me to improve my skills which is talk English .com. It has two sections one of them has lessons to practice speaking and the second has listening lessons. There are a lot of advantages on this website. First, in speaking you have many topics that can help you in your daily life. Second, in listening ,you have many lessons that contain many dialogs. Third, you can do a quiz after listening ,also you can show the dialogue when you are listening. On the other hand ,there are some disadvantages . For example, you cannot make sure if your pronunciation is correct. Moreover, speaking lessons does not include all the important topics .Furthermore ,in speaking you need to speak in the real life with people , so in this website practice speaking will not affect very well . To conclusion, I recommend this website to practice listening but in speaking I think it is for beginning levels .
